'Wow !! How Good Is Si Cranstoun !!’ – Chris Evans on the Radio 2 breakfast show
And how good indeed having just scored three hits on the Radio 2 play list on Warner Records with his fusion of Vintage Pop & Motown.
Hailed as the ‘King Of Vintage’ by The Express & with a powerhouse voice that’s been compared to Jackie Wilson, Si unashamedly writes tunes with that familiar vibe of yesteryear & wraps them up in his coat of many colours !!
London born son of a Jamaican Ska promoter, Si Cranstoun began his musical path through busking with his brother in Ska band The Dualers. The duo went on to land two top 30 hits on the UK official chart as buskers which became a well respected feature on several national news channels.
Si eventually went solo forming his own six piece band and following his debut release of a Jackie Wilson style original entitled Dynamo, the flood gates of the ‘International Vintage Scene’ were flung open, catapulting Si as a major star on the Rock & Roll circuit.
Top selling rockin blues albums & international shows soon followed, along with comparisons to Si’s friend and rival ‘JD Mcpherson ‘ ( Rounder Records) which brought Warner UK knocking and the release of Si’s current album ‘Modern Life‘ which dominated the iTunes blues chart ‘s no 1 spot for several months after it’s release in October 2014.
Si has just finished a brand new album and the buzz, interest & intrigue continues to grow !
